The annual Coryell County hay show will be held on November 9, 2015 at the Gatesville Civic Center, Gatesville, TX. We have many concerns about the health of our Bermuda and other forage producing varieties in our pastures. Another issue facing many Coryell County beef cattle producers is establishing native grasses. This program is designed to help producers make management decisions on range and pasture, and insect management.
The pasture management portion of the program will feature Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Ohlson, Texas A&M University Extension Forage Specialist and beef cattle session of the program will discuss de-wormer and vaccines.
Hay samples should be placed and filled to ½ feed sack and represent the average of your crop. Hay samples must be submitted by October by 20th to the Coryell County Extension Office. Please make sure you label the type of hay you are entering. There will be no charge for submitting your hay sample.
The program will be held Monday, November 9th at the Gatesville Civic Center. Registration will start at 3:45 PM and program at 4:00. Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP by November 3rd for meal count to 254.865.2414.
